Sono Moon is an artist who graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, France. She paints her own unique experiences within predetermined frames, capturing her personal moments. Her time can be likened to a photograph in a letter arriving from the past.
In Sono Moon’s work ‘150’, she tells the story of a girl traveling back in time. This girl, wearing a magic hat and accompanied by a cat with a magic wand, embarks on a mystical journey through a memory forest filled with forgotten things. In the artwork, the girl seeks to find the key to living in the present by meeting her past self. She suggests reliving good memories and embracing the bad ones. The message conveyed is that spending time with the most cherished beings is of utmost importance.
Her world of art resembles a fairy tale, and the artist herself dreams of living a fairy tale-like life. She captures and preserves enchanting and beautiful moments, immortalizing these fleeting instances on canvas. This not only provides solace to the artist but also to her audience. She records sold-out shows annually at Art Taipei and enjoys continuous love from collectors in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
