Taipei Fine Arts Museum Children's Art Education Center | Seeking Form and Making Landscape | Installation | distorted alteration | 2024
The "Children's Art Education Center," located in the basement of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, officially opened on Children's Day in 2014. It aims to create a contemporary art exhibition space centered on "children," emphasizing shared experiences between parents and children. The Educational Projects of the Children's Art Education Center allow children to perceive the world from the artists'perspectives and meet the world of diversity through their creativity and problem solving techniques. On the other hand, it engages the artists in discussions with TFAM over designing interactive installations for each Educational Project, promoting experience transformation models that can be duplicated and transferred to the audiences, and guiding them from only visual appreciation to physical and perceptual engagement.
This project of “Seeking Form and Making Landscape” extends from artist Mei-Ling Hong's " Looking for Tao" series, where her creations explore elements like valleys, platforms, and paths to reflect on the journey of life. In this space, you can find building blocks of various sizes and shapes, allowing you to stack them in interesting ways to create your own path.
