Takahide KOMATSU theme is the changing ecosystem, inspired from the satoyama landscape of his homeland, Miyazaki, Kyusyu. He expresses that more impressively with various small creatures, using acrylic on the leaf. He tells the changing environment by painting foreign and native species, sometimes together on canvas and sometimes divided. And the Rinpa school style, an old painting method using the leaf from the Edo era, shows the Japanese tradition, and the modern acrylic tells the innovation, according to his words “Well traditionally and well contemporarily.”
